Each Holiday Season beginning in 2011, the Delaware Seaside Railroad Club has set up operating model train displays at the Georgetown Library for the public's viewing enjoyment. The displays are open to the public on consecutive Saturdays beginning right after Thanksgiving and concluding on the Saturday before Christmas. In addition, on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the Holiday period, the displays are operated for prearranged tour groups of elementary school children and senior citizen organizations. Each year hundreds of Kindergarten and First Grade students from the nearby Georgetown Elementary School bundle up in their winter clothes and march over to the library to see the trains. Admission to this Community Service Project is free of charge.
